I find the hostility towards men's rights both disheartening and baffling. When I first heard of MRA movements, it made total sense to me. I was like, "Well, duh, everyone needs their rights protected." I didn't see it as in any way hostile toward women, any more than a Native American rights group would somehow be hostile toward black rights groups. In a forum I participate in, I was shocked by the hostility. Some people claimed that men's rights activists were "rape apologists" or were creeps who tried to normalize pedophilia, and many other way-out claims. I didn't know much about MRA, so I check out forums for myself. So far I've never once encountered an MRA who is some kind of rape apologist. It would need to be someone who genuinely did condone rape in some way, for example, "I don't see what the big deal is; he got horny, but the bitch wouldn't put out, so he took what was his." I've never met ANYONE with an attitude like that, and certainly never any MRA.

In this terrible climate of hostile disinformation, it would be great if there were some kind of tribute page honoring whatever MRA victories that have happened. I'm in the US, but I heard of the group in Great Britain that successfully lobbied their government to require stores to have diaper (aka nappy) changing stations in the men's rooms and not just in the women's. The fact that these MRA men went through the effort to make this change shows me that they're good men who care about being good fathers. That certainly doesn't seem misogynistic to me, and I would consider anyone twisting this subject into that to be a complete lunatic.

If there are other MRA victories such as opening a domestic violence shelter that also protects men, I would love to hear of that. With the amount of anti-MRA hostility and the big setbacks that MRAs face, it seems to me that the celebration of any victories becomes all the more important. If you know of some, and especially if there's a page honoring them, do speak up.
