Strange that I just watched a livestream by a lawyer only a day ago, and he noted that when cross-examining someone, if they cried, he immediately assumed they were being deceptive/manipulative.

I just looked it up and here's a link to the actual timestamp of the livestream. As he rightly notes, crying is something typically people avoid – after all, who wants to feel awful? – so anyone who weeps openly without any attempt to compose themselves is likely doing so deliberately and dishonestly. Many people also cry when they are being punished only because they are feeling sorry for themselves, and not due to any remorse about their actions.

You heard that, ahem... from a non-lawyer. I tried to look at that stream... didn't exist. Just checking facts. Check it for yourself!

The link still works for me, and Viva Frei is most definitely a lawyer. Not sure what you are talking about, if anything. His channel on youtube is fairly popular (a quarter of a million subs) and easy to find:

If you can't get the link to work, go to around the 36:30 mark of the video from Jun 4 titled "Talking Candace Owens..." to hear his opinions on witnesses who cry whle testifying.

Excuse me - I stand corrected. Check it out, everybody.

So im supposed to feel sorry for her because she cried? Fuck that chick

[–]Moronic-Simpleton 11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Despite the weird title, nothing in the article seemed to say anyone should feel bad for her. I’m pretty sure most people wouldn’t feel bad for a murderer even if it was a woman.

[–]ButterSock123 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I get that she thinks we need to feel sorry for her. Otherwise, why bother with tears. But yeah, i had the same thought

[–]Ody_ssey 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wait for the suspended sentence by judge, you will understand who is feeling remorseful for her. Those tears are for the judge.

[–]benderXX 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Despite the sick title. Are you pretty sure that most people won’t feel sorry for her. Or plain sure. Your name suits you. I have never said this before on this sub.

Fuck off.

Yes, I’m pretty sure. I agree that people tend to have more empathy for women compared to men, but I don’t think most people would try to justify her actions or claim that she is a victim and doesn’t deserve punishment. I’d even say most feminists wouldn’t think that, only the extreme ones. You seem to have a distorted view of what the majority of the population is like.

A woman cop murdered a black man in his home in the delusion that it was her home and he was an intruder. That man's brother hugged her in court. Sentence was 10 years but after 3 years she will likely get parole.

A mother killed her baby and buried in backyard. Judge gave her suspended sentence while saying "I can't imagine how much in the pain she might be in right now".

A UK judge gave a woman sentence who killed her husband. Judge said "I can't give her sentence".

If you knew about these news, you would escape from your delusion that people don't show sympathy towards female criminal. Fuck sympathy, even judges try to reduce sentence as much as possible.

The fact is those crocodile tears are not meant for public sympathy. They are meant for judge. But if a man cries, that will be a sign of guilt and admission so lawyers advise to control their emotions.

I’m not sure about this case, but I’m reminded of Cyntoia Brown. A teenager who ran away, joined a pimp, prostituted herself, had sex with a John, waited til he fell asleep, shot him in the back of the head while he slept, robbed, him, stole his truck, and then returned to her pimp with the things she had stolen.

and she was cast as the victim in the media, and the man she murdered in cold blood while he slept was the bad guy.

This sub is such an echo chamber of people who just like hearing the same shit over and over again and celebrating the same meaningless victories that they come up with in their heads. Sensibility seems rare in posts on this sub.

Please let’s all focus on her emotional state. Her emotional state trumps his life.

But hey she tilted her head in the picture. That accounts for something.

She shouted “I love you” to a woman in the public gallery as she was led to the cells at Coventry magistrates’ court.

Guess what biatch and the journalist who reported her as a "KILLER RAP Girl, 18", she is not effing one anymore. She is just another criminal who killed a man.

Cage her and let her rap in prison cell to void around her.

[–]RunawayGrain 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Genuine and heartfelt tears of "Oh crap, I got caught."

[–]LegendaryEmu1 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Aaand five years jail. Probably.

I don't know why they always mention the woman cries. It has no bearing on anything, but they always seem to say 'well, she regrets her actions, so she doesn't get punished as bad', or 'she didn't understand her actions'. or something. Since she stabbed him fatally, thats pretty clear, she killed him, you don't accidentally stab someone fatally.
