Hey Gents
I (29/M) was looking for a little bit of information but I didn't find too much. I was wondering if you guys had any advice for parents?
I recently filed and I've been explaining to my parents how things are going to change. My parents are a little bit more old school and so the concept of divorce and relationships changing due to that are somewhat foreign to them. I think when things calm down hopefully it'll get easier but in the coming weeks and months post-filing, my wife is going to be very hard, almost impossible, to deal with. obviously the wife and I are going to be separated and my children will be spending time with her so I guess I'm asking how did your parents navigate your divorce and how did they also navigate interacting with your wife/ex wife when wanting to talk and get updates about their grandchildren?
Like most of the female spouses/ex wives, mine is very irrational, immature and also probably BPD. I only mention that because it seems like my wife will do anything for attention or the pity vote. she will also probably make things as difficult as possible for everyone else around her including my parents, unfortunately. How did you deal with that?
