I found this on r/feminism. So apparently she wants the vaccine to not be developed because it's being worked on by white men, taking credit away from the women in Germany and New Zealand who've lead so well. Unlike said white men who'll recieve credit for defeating the virus.

While the writer (Emily Cousens) does prioritise Form over Function, and should be critiqued for it, the title is misleading as her concerns are that other countries which contributed to the vaccine development work will be overshadowed, and not primarily on the leadership and response to the virus of women leaders in Germany and NZ:

If my university is the first to develop the vaccine, I’m worried that it will be used as it has been in the past, to fulfil its political, patriotic function as proof of British excellence.

Even if some scientist male developed the vaccine they will give credit to the secretary that transcript the papers for publishing or the female lab supervisor .Or most probably the guys used the data collected by females on Germany or NZ.You will see.

I am hoping people who see that and read it understand that opinion is INSANE when the virus is killing up to thousands each day. Who gives a shit who makes it? Give em a cookie and give that vaccine.

Is it likely to be developed by 'whiteys'? Yes, fuckin racist, sexist moron. Medical science is usually more developed in said countries. Whether its developed in Australia, America, the UK, Germany, Canada, whatever, doesn't matter.

By the same token f say, South Korea, Taiwan, even China makes it, it works and we get it out into the world, good on them. As much as i don't trust China, especially after their lies about this whole thing, I will give them credit where it is due.
