What are your opinions on the MGTOW movement and it's association with the MRM?

First, there really is no movement, not an MRA movement, not a MGTOW movement, there is not really a MRM. It's just a loose association of forums where like minded posters (mostly men, but there are a lot of women and some trans folk) meet to chew the fat.

MGTOW is not really associated with MensRights. MRAs are attempting to fix the system (with damn little success, but there are some victories), going MGTOW is about dissociating from the system as much as possible.

There may be some points of congruence, like agreeing what generally happens to men in a divorce, but the philosophy is different.

And note that since the MGTOW sub was quarantined and incels was deleted, we tend to get some posters from both here from time to time, as well as feminists posting suggestions on how to make r/mensrights less toxic. So don't assume that any posts or comments you see here are from MRAs, if it seems extreme, it's almost certainly not an MRA.

Single mothers should be avoided according to MGTOW? No shit, all women should be avoided relationshipwise with MGTOW. For a smaller number, women should be avoided altogether whenever possible.

MGTOW isn't a movement, it's a personal way of life. There is nothing extreme about it, it's one of the only rational responses to the way men's rights are shat on, particularly in the court systems(both criminal and civil), and socially. Even just living with a woman poses a threat to your assets, especially in places where that commonlaw marriage horseshit exists.

My opinion of MGTOW is that it is an inevitable reaction to feminism. Given the great legal and social power a woman will have over you in a relationship not entering one unless you are certain the woman can be fully trusted makes sense, I can see why for many men the potential emotional rewards may not be worth the cost and risks.

But I think they should focus on reforming sexual and family laws to make women safe again instead. Full legal and basic social equality is the real solution to the problem.

Me personally I am a mgtow monk 2yrs and counting I've been mgtow at least 5yr I like mgtows philosophy we can't change it so leave it and do your own thing I joined a men's rights movement group last year and first thing they will tell you they don't like mgtows will never say why alot of there forums they say no mgtows whatever we've left society once before the other thing is men's right's go after 50 60 things they don't stand on one subject but they do bring up alot of issues

Don't mistake posts like that for genuine concern or consideration. That kind of troll does not care about any MRA's existing thoughts on that sub, or the ideas expressed there. It's not an effort to assess or find common ground. It's an effort to pit one group focused on men's issues against another group focused on men's issues, and an effort to use shaming of one group to police another.

The men's movement(s), the manosphere, whatever you want to call it is in a phase of massive infighting.

MRAs, men's rights activists are largely absent from the field, their spaces having been fully infiltrated and subverted by opposition, their leaders distracted by matters of media and organizational issues.

As such, the entire conversation focuses almost exclusively on documenting the fall of man, controlling the spaces, controlling and branding the message.

MRAs believe some short list of approved tennants, or they are not REAL MRAs

MGTOW have gone their own way and no one hears from them

The MGTOW fan club is a rabble of edgy woman haters

Red pill has been taken over by 20 something incels, who are very worldly sounding online since they have a lot of prior art to draw from

the incels themselves - arguably the real victims of much of what has befallen men, are openly shunned while also being the main thought leaders and producers of memes.

These groups spend all day making sock puppets on each others forums and completely ignoring all issues of substance.

Fighting FOR the rights of men to be free from the restrictions placed on them by feminist law, are only the non-binaries, the traps.
