I did notice from one page to the next her story did change. Multiple times actually.

These two were in a bad relationship it sounds like, breaking up and getting back together, abusing each other, probably.

It is not even necessarily the case that the judges have their own, demonic personal agendas. They might just be reacting to incentives. They face many more risks if they let a predator go free than if they send someone who might be innocent to jail. If they fail to convict someone, and that person then goes on to reoffend, the public might well see you as responsible. Meanwhile, I have seen few cases of judges losing their jobs or facing violence for convicting someone who turned out to be innocent (though I might be wrong).
