Twice today I heard on the news that women had been kept indoors suffering in isolation during the pandemic, as if men were running around freely and socializing.

Women are now video recording their male partner's cleaning up skills, as a test and critiquing it on Tik Tok. Imagine what would happen if men tested their wives and girlfriends cleaning skill and critiquing it online?

TV news: I heard a Ukrainian soldier yell at the men not to take the water bottles, they are for women only. And then they report about women's day, women complaining they are treated worse than men and want equality. I'm going to lose my mind here.

Child labour will always be a thing until you can fundamentally change these countries. It’s not even a case of them being forced into slavery, these kids need to work in order to even survive. That’s why Fact 7? That goes on about UN law means nothing.

Sure you can make a law that means kids can’t work, but they still need to work because both parents are dead and his sister isn’t allowed to work because she’s a girl. So yeah, it’s a bit more complicated than just banning kids from working.

The entire country would need to change including support for orphaned/vulnerable kids that have no one to rely on.

'child' labor and 'child' soldiers are weasel words the media uses so they don't have to say boy soldiers or boy laborers. Its a shitty old tactic they've been employing for decades to erase the subject of male issues and male suffering from public discourse.

Exactly the point of my post.

This is a stretch. I've never heard of child labor as anything other than gender neutral. Separating it into "boy labor" and "girl labor" is ridiculous. This is the primary reason nobody takes us seriously.

Gendercide Watch is aware of no estimate of the gender breakdown of these deaths by forced labour, but the casualties must be at least 85-90 percent male, probably higher.

It's part of a broader issue of the the media and UN trying to gender social issues as female as possible. Now to be fair, I wouldn't ever use the term "boy labour", but that the victim's gender is hidden for one gender and is nearly always mentioned for the other is rather disgusting. Not as much so as the 1 in 33 murder victims in Mexico are women thing, but still.

That was exactly why I posted this, thanks for explaining it.

What do you mean with "nobody" you shouldn't care about others approval, the op is right, most child labor victims are boys, the u.n has been known for making everything look like a woman only thing and they are taken serious by everybody

[–]ARCS2010 -4 points-3 points-2 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Even so, how is this a gendered issue? Child labor is child labor, it doesnt matter how many of them have penises.

When women are the majority we must apply all efforts to them and when women are the minority we must apply all efforts to them.

Equality isn't a fucking bistro where you can pick and choose.

Even so, how is this a gendered issue?

Because its literally a gendered issue lol. Measurably.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"Even so, how is this a gendered issue? "

Because boys are more often the victims then yes, just like sexual trafficking is a gendered issue but that affect females more often unlike forced labor that affects more often males either way is both modern day slavery

[–]chadwickofwv 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

sexual trafficking is a gendered issue but that affect females more often

False.

Why is it you never speak out like this when it's girls that are depicted in child labor?

[–]ARCS2010 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because i haven't. See first comment

Came here to say this. Posts like this make me think I’m in a mirror image of a feminist sub and it makes me sad.

[–]mcmur 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What are you talking about?

How do you know that child labor is not a gendered issue? Do you think that it affects boys and girls equally? How do you know this?

Oh just shut it off. Men & only me are in labor.

These femenists- 😔

I was a kid living in Iraq until 2006. My dad took me to work with him in the summer and weekends. It's just a thing, your dad expects you to take over after he retires.

[–]MRA-automatron-2kb[S] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Thanks for sharing your experience. I think it's great that your dad was teaching you his trade or work. Did you continue in his line of work?

[–]adool666 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nope. I'm in the same line of business but I'm not managing his company. It's too much responsibility to be the boss of 30 people at my age lol

[–]MRA-automatron-2kb[S] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well it's good he taught you his line of business. A lot of people go to university and can't find work after they graduate.
