I actually wouldn't mind seeing it but I have a sneaking suspicion that its probably not faithful to the book and more likely a pathetic feminist retelling of the story with nore modern independent roles of the characters. So I'll pass

I haven't seen the film, but I have a feeling you might be right. Vanity Fare ran an article that mentioned a few details about the plot that made it sound to me like it was done exactly the way you are suspecting. Also, several of the people who worked on the film are blaming men for the fact that the film is looking like it is not going to get as many awards as some of the films it is competing with.

Kind of funny how stupid feminists are when it comes to show business. Especially when its their fault for turning away male audiences.

  1. This is a film made for women, we don't care what men have to say, it isnt for you
  2. Blame men for the movie tanking because men didn't watch it

And if men were showing up in droves to watch it they'd find a way to make that a bad thing too. I won't watch any movie any more that has even the slightest stink of SJW progressivism on it.

I'm interested in watching it but not being so doesn't make anyone a misogynist.

not being so doesn't make anyone a misogynist

I 100% agree with you there.

Personally, I would prefer not to watch it. Several of the top people who made the film are blaming men for it not getting as much acclaim as some of the films it is competing with right now. I prefer not to reward producers who have this kind of a hateful attitude.

Didn't read the book. Didn't see the first one. Not going to see the second one. Is it misogyny nope. I like what I like and if Hollywood want my $15 dollars it better be something I like.

Maybe if was set during a zombie outbreak like this I'd go see it.

This is remake number 7 including a Netflix version last year and the big name one done in 94 that was very well received. Not to mention many tv mini series over the decades.

Number 7? I must be an uber misogynist to not going see a movie that I have zero interest in.

Here are some movies I would see.

Little women vs Godzilla.

Little women at gallipoli.

Little women vs A team.

Little women and the color out of space.

For the record I did like Mothra and it actually had two little women in it.

Little women and the color out of space.

I think I'd actually like to see this, assuming it was reasonably faithful to both sources.

Little women vs Godzilla.

For the record I did like Mothra and it actually had two little women in it.

I'm a daikaiju/giant monster fan too.

Fuck it. A crossover where Jo is dissatisfied with her life of poverty until one night a blue, horned monster named Maurice appears from the shadow under her bed. He leads her into a world of vice and excitement until she’s forced to make a decision between marrying him and ending up like him or staying with her family.

Little Monster Women.

Sorry. Sounds a little lame.

[–]valenin 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Little Women/A-Team, though. That was a winner.

[–]Diesel-66 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The “Little Women” problem with men is very real. I don’t say that lightly and am very alarmed. In the past day have been told by 3 male friends who usually trust me that they either refuse to see it or probably won’t have time. Despite my saying it’s tied for #1 of 2019

So 2 of your male friends said they were busy and one didn't want to see it. And this is concerning?

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Remake?

I wasnt aware there was even a first one.

I'll pass. Guess I just hate women.

No, I will not Consume Product in the name of Feminism.

Burn, Hollywood, Burn.

It's not a movie to see on the big screen. It's a movie I'll watch at home so nobody sees me cry.

More women go to see movies than men, if you can't make money off of the larger share of the market, don't blame the minority.

More women go to see movies than men

I was not aware of this. How big is the difference?
