Ugh, that feminist HR moron!

Now I’m finding that people want rules surrounding interactions between women and men in the workplace to absolve them from potential liability. And it’s like no, that’s not how this is going to work. There is no list of rules.

In other words, "Men, forget about getting clear guidelines. We like having everything be vague and we're going to keep it that way. That means WE are the sole arbiters of which men have sinned & therefore must be sacked vs which men have done nothing wrong, because they bend the knee to us and feminism".

And then she goes on with the gender pay gap myth. Just ugh.

I had a life changing altercation at the university with a woman who was your typical radical feminist (read: a slogan repeating robot whose sole intention was to defame you if you were a white male). During the "mending" period of our altercation, mediated by our academic advisor, the female in question told me there had to be boundaries going forward. I asked what are the boundaries. She told me she does not know and can't just make them out of thin air. What she really meant was I need to fall in line with her ideology because any misstep could mean another chance for her to go tattle to a superior. Our advisor said nothing. She then said that one boundary was that I should never talk to a woman, especially if she was alone, about political topics. Our advisor said nothing. I quickly left the PhD program afterwards.

I stumbled over the „there‘s not going to be rules“ part as well, but the „muh false interpretation of the wage gap“ from a HR „professional“ was equally, if not more, breathtaking. So here it is in all it‘s glory:

Those are the same power dynamics that mean you earn 20 cents more per dollar than your white female colleagues, 35 cents more than your black female colleagues, and 42 cents more than your Latina colleagues, according to the Pew Research Center.

The HR lady spouting this non-sense is described as follows:

There are people who specialize in making workplace cultures and environments safe for employees. They’re called human resources professionals. One is Sarah Morgan. She’s a senior human resources director for an international organization. Not for nothing, but Sarah Morgan is the most candid human resources professional I’ve ever spoken to

Candid indeed. But some competence would certainly help :-)

Original article: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/how-men-can-navigate-post-metoo-workplace-cleo-stiller/

AFAIK LinkedIn requires a sign-in so I shared the Paste Bin instead, so you can read it without an account.

I clicked on it and was interested because the first half shared the issues we faced or issues that arose from #MeToo, but as you can see it quickly devolves to playing the blame game and raising the already-proven-false wage gap.

It even places the race card too, which is frankly hilarious.

*The fear of false accusations rippled through almost every conversation I had about this topic, so I think it bears repeating that the numbers suggest the risk of false allegations is very low. In the workplace specifically, these numbers are confirmed anecdotally by professionals. In 2018 the Employment Law Alliance, a global human resources legal solutions firm, conducted a survey of nearly four hundred employers from all fifty states. The survey found that harassment claims were rarely fabricated, with only 6 percent of respondents indicating “more often than not” that claims were false. *

"Confirmed anecdotally". How the fuck would they know an accusation is 'rarely fabricated if they don't ask the accused what was said or happened to see if the story is the same?
It's easy to say no one lies if you only listen to one side of a story...

[–]Egalitarianwhistle 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

So I'm reading that as 1 in 20 admitted to lying and making up the claim. Surely most do no admit they lied?

[–]apeironman 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. We can't know how many accusations are false. 'Anecdotally', it could be anything.

[–]PlatinumBeetle 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

A 1/20 chance sounds high anyway on something with such drastic negative consequences.

Well the feminist response to that would be, you are worried about 1 out of 20 false rape accusations compared to 19/20 actual rapes?

My point is that we don't know. We ahve this minimums- either proven rigorously or self confessed. But it's wrong to assume that most are true, especially wtihout any corroborating evidence, especially when female on male sexual assault is given carte blanches.

I'm sure there are cases where a woman sexually assaults a man ten times, and then one time he does the same thing and suddenly he's being accused of rape.

Yes, I am. Because I could get sent to prison WHERE I COULD BE RAPED.

They should see that threatening innocent people with rape is wrong.
