I think men are designed to spend more time alone or in small groups. Women on the other hand thrive in larger communities as it's the hierarchy they spend most their time climbing.

Women prefer sitting in front of people, a group. Men stand beside the person they are talking to, and looking outwards.

"What’s more, over half of the men surveyed reported having two or less friends they would discuss “a serious topic” with, and 19 per cent of men over 55 said they lacked a close friend — period. "

I feel this is obvious but, who needs more than two friends to discuss a serious issue? I feel this study is comparing men against women in a way that doesn't make sense.

Would you not be better off comparing men to other men at different time periods?

Once you try to see who is there for you and who isn’t, you will understand that no one cares about you.

That’s when you understand this is all bollocks. Live for you and let people go out of your life as soon as they are out of your view.

With no expectations, no risk to wake up one day and be depressed because no one think about you.

Be your one and only friend. Else, take a dog.

Frequently that's because their female partners systematically isolate men from their friends and families. It's the most common form of domestic violence in our community.

Just some anecdotal advice from me. Being an only child, I used to tie my happiness to my interactions with friends, who were friends only by association through work/university etc., but you soon come to realise that these utterly superficial relationships were as short lived as a pint of beer.

I’m now learning (albeit slowly) that true happiness lies in being happy in yourself-and that ‘friends’ are only barriers to your achieving this, as you slowly find yourself living their lives and not your own.

While going out alone, travelling alone and eating out alone, you soon start to realise what you’ve been missing out on, and how many real connections you can make with mere strangers.

Most importantly though, you learn to be content in your own skin and that life is often better for it.

I guarantee that a big part of this is that when people enter relationships, women tend to go much, much farther than men in demanding that the they and the relationship be the most important thing in their partner's life. Whenever there are threads that talk about the red flags that people should watch for in relationships, one thing that always gets brought up is when your partner tries to isolate you from your friends and family. Women engage in that kind of behavior so much more than men its not even funny, yet society only views it as a problem when men do it.

Because females don't have "friends" they have associates that they call friends. The bitch in the article is fucking lying her teeth.

How do I know? Because on average look at the amount of gossiping, backstabbing, betrayal. and drama that happens with females and their so-called "friends". Friends don't do that shit, associates do.

Important to note that the article low-key blames "Toxic Masculinity" for everything. They just call it "masculine socialization" instead so all the retards and disingenuous fucks can state:

"Huurrr Durrr., DeeRE No BiaS Here. DEy Didn even use noT 1 FemInisT buzz WoRd!"

[–]Lethn 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Notions of masculinity are also factors. Experts say it’s common for men to view mental health struggles as signs of weakness, and avoid talking to friends about problems as a result.

I do not blame you for losing your shit at all, I think they're getting worse as well this little paragraph is a classic example of them pushing toxic masculinity without actually saying toxic masculinity. All I can say is whenever you read feminist propaganda make sure you are in a patient mood and have properly woken up before you engage with it lol.

It looks like they know the public thinks feminists are very much a joke when it comes to discussing mental health so they're doing damage control in my view.

it’s common for men to view mental health struggles as signs of weakness,

This is such surface level bullshit that it's like they just skimmed the scum that rises to the top and said "Yep, that's some good stuff right there!"

When you look deeper you see that on average men only think certain things are "bad" because those traits make you unattractive to most women. tiny penis, pencil thin arms, being poor, etc...etc...etc...

I have always said if women were highly attracted to homeless guys, then all men would be living in a cardboard box. Same with depression. We're all still animals based around sexual reproduction no matter how anyone tries to sugar coat it.

The moral is High School never ends, the shitty kids just get older and have shitty kids of their own. Instead of actively shaming people, they do it passive aggressively. Like this article hiding behind flowery language, but stating the same scummy shit as everyone else.

You're right, the school environment has simply transferred to social media. People like to make it out that SJWs are the losers who got picked on in school but in my opinion it's the opposite, when you look into the backgrounds of a lot of these people they're always from rich families and do very well for themselves which is why they have the time for all their 'activism' in the first place.

This has lead me to believe that they are in fact the sorts of people who used to be popular in school but have realised everyone has moved on from that crap compared to them so they're trying to use social media and shaming tactics to try and put themselves at the top of the hierarchy which they were booted from by everybody else because they couldn't cut it in the real world.

That's sort of the social aspect of it I agree but we can't ignore the ideology they're peddling to try and get popular either. I think though you're correct generally because they're trying to target the traditional social outcasts like gamers and incels in an effort to boost their popularity not realising that it's actually generating sympathy for these groups because they're being such massive cunts to people who just want to be left alone.

I keep finding myself more and more morbidly fascinated with these people but precisely because of that I think I'm peeling away at a lot of their bullshit and getting down to exactly why they hate men so much and get so vicious when it comes to men who are social outcasts in particular. I think the ideology aspect is something of a mask in order to justify what they're doing and make it look like they're more deep than they actually are. It shouldn't be ignored because there are some of them that do genuinely believe that crap but these types of people like with any group become far easier to deal with once you truly understand their mentality.

[–]xRisingSunx 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

It's actually not too complex.

They are people who are otherwise unable to increase their social standing by their own merits. So they find an outcast group to grind into the mud to make themselves more important in the eyes of the idiot masses. It's a classic behavior of shit human beings.

Straights vs Gays

Whites vs Non-Whites

Religious Groups vs Anyone not of their Religion

It's easy and it always works. Been that way since the beginning of recorded history and the mainstream still hasn't fucking learned that's is always stupid.

Basically they have people they can vent to and be open with but not anyone who would take a bullet for them.

Interesting, unlike most things in this sub, this is one issue that we can do something about without the approval of anyone but ourselves.

[–]RIPOldAccountF 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Uhh you do know if you try to make friends in the UK as a man you get jailed, right?

Not that sort of friends...
