I e been talking to my girlfriend about these sumptuous expenses a lot recently. We want to get married at some point, but seeing all my friends struggling with the wedding costs is a big red flag. The ring, at least you can always sell. The wedding tho is literally just spent money. No thanks, let’s go to the courthouse.

Yeah no. He didnt have insurance which none of the multiple articles i read discussed whether it was even available to him through his full time job. He "aged" out of his step fathers insurance at 26. From the articles this wasn't a woman demanding he switch. The bit about the "wedding" is just thrown in as a sympathy play.
