Most of the time when there is domestic abuse everyone assumes it is the man abusing the woman. We all know that is not true.

I’m in the middle of an ugly divorce. I married an abusive narcissistic psychopath. left because I finally realized that her behavior is not normal or okay. We have children which complicates the matter. I love them and want to be involved in their lives, but she filed an emergency motion to get custody of the kids and included 16 pages of false accusations. The judge wanted to “err on the side of caution” and bought into all of her BS. I feel like I’m losing out on my right to be a father to my children.

I have some documentation of her abuse but I feel like if I bring this up I will be ignored because 1. I am a man, and 2. it will look like I am just retaliating/pointing the finger back at her. I have legitimate concerns that I want to be heard, but I don’t know what to do.

Are there resources available to help a man deal with an abusive women? How do I get the judge to genuinely listen to my side of the story when even my lawyers tell me the family court system is biased toward men.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
