YouTube suggested to me that I might want to watch a woman reacting to the song Creep by Radiohead (this one, for reference), a song that I consider to be emblematic of a lot of relationship issues that young men of my generation (late 80s, early 90s) could probably identify with even then - I certainly could. But I think it also applies to the modern generation, the generation of incels and MGTOW, which is why I bring it up here and now.

The linked video shows some understanding and empathy, which is what made me wonder how others reacted, whether they all showed that much (apparent) understanding and emotional connection.

What I found, in watching a chain of these reaction videos to this song (solo women, or men and women), is that a lot of them seem to identify with the lyric "I wanna perfect body, I wanna perfect soul". Understandable, I suppose, but generalising somewhat in the context of the rest of the song.

In terms of the core message of the song, many reactions offer the opinion that he's (Thom Yorke, lead singer) not "weird", that he's special in his own way, that he should keep trying and maybe go somewhere else, because he's worthy of being considered special (and presumably of attracting a partner). The women reacting to him seem to have some amount of empathy, and seem to want to offer reassurance. Some reactors (men and women) offer the message that even if you think you're weird, or unworthy, it's a mental distortion and that you are somebody.

I don't really have a conclusion, but I'm interested in what you guys think. I'm interested to see how realistic you think these reactions are, whether they're influenced by the fact that the person expressing these emotions is a famous rock artist, whether you think the reactions are genuine interpretations of what many men feel every day, or whether they're platitudes.
