The whole "get to know u better" is a fucking myth. Girls will fuck a guy RAW in a dirty club bathroom within 5 minutes of a dirty grinding onnyhe dance floor after they just met.

If a girl ever tells u "Let's get to know each other first and take it slow", what she means is "I have no real sexual attraction to you, but maybe you have something else going on for you that might make me interested later on, so I'll keep u around on standby".

EFA: Early Frame Announcement. Basically what that means is that when you first meet someone(especially a woman), you indicate by some means your intention. If she is receptive, you are successful. If she’s not, enh well you probably move on.

When you befriend a girl, you set your frame as solely her friend. Once she views you as such, it becomes nigh impossible to convince her to see you as anything other than beta(even if you are alpha). You’d need to do something drastic.

Define "long period". It takes me time (at least a few weeks) to nurture/screen a female to plate her. Now, I've had one night stands too, but stopped after the one night. Emotions are a powerful thing and, I'd rather not be with someone who's just with me for the emotional high.

Break social norms. Realise that social norms are set by those who are successful to keep them in their position. This is true in business, romance, and all aspects of life. Anyone who breaks out of their station has cut corners at some point (more likely, multiple points), else at best, they'd be static.
