A pedestal is an inflated value of worth placed upon someone or something. Can you pedestalize your parents, your friends, your women, your favorite athletes? Yeah.

Money is money. It has its own intrinsic value.

yes, it's bad to put money on a pedestal.

lots of guys here haven't fully accepted the redpill. they're past the anger phase and believe AWALT and all that, but they're still basically trying to be bluepill betas who get women by being providers.

having money is good, and it can improve your SMV and make you more alpha, but only through secondary effects. having money makes it easier to stay in good shape, you can do interesting things like travel or have alpha hobbies, you're less dependent on keeping other people happy, so that gives you freedom, etc. but if you try to use money directly to get women, you're probably going to get cucked because AF/BB.

this is just off the top of my head (a couple drinks haha) anyways

What do you think about the idea of money symbolizing a lot of things (energy, freedom, etc), but also power?

And the people who normally get a lot of it (outside of inheritance) are powerful people? Like people give money to people who have a power or "particular set of skills" (usually to exploit for high ROI)?

OK. So, if we add that thought - most people who aquire money are full of some kind of power they get compensated for - and then we add the idea people throw around where the most powerful thing you can do is give someone else power over you?

I've heard that explained as the reason powerful executive CEOs go to dominatrixes. These guys have so much power, they have to give other people some of it in order to feel "below" or at least normal.

So, that guy getting cucked with a lot of money I'm betting is doing that on purpose because he has so much power he doesn't know what to do with it other than give it away.

Anyways, lol like I said beer thoughts.

yeah obviously if you're a CEO at a huge corporation or some megabillionaire top 1% rich dude, you're going to have a lot of power. but that's a tiny tiny tiny percentage of the population.

a lot the guys on TRP who are thinking money=alpha have much more modest goals. they're imagining something more like becoming a doctor or lawyer. a low 6 figure salary isn't going to magically make you an alpha, it's not going to give you an incredible amount of power in society, and it's not going to make chicks sexually attracted to you. but it will make you very termpting as a potential beta provider mark.

personal anecdote: one of my plates is married to a stockbroker type guy who makes somewhere between $300k-400k per year in a relatively low cost of living area. dude is tall, stays in shape, not extremely socially awkward or ugly or anything. but he's getting seriously cucked by his wife because he's a beta.

idk if the whole "powerful CEOs enjoy going to dominatrixes and being subs" thing is even real, or if it's just some made up just world /conventional wisdom meme thing. that's such a small number of people and it's such a private subject that it would be very difficult to get any kind of meaningful data to find a correlation there, much less come up with a universal explanation for it.

It is an interesting subject to think about for sure. Especially with the Weinstein/Hollywood stuff now coming out. Think it's been portrayed on film somewhere about British BDSM brothels with recording for blackmail like the Trump hotel in Russia with the pissgate.

I think that weird stuff is a lot more common than we think. And the reason why in such a long winded round about way - goes back to what I was saying about giving people power over you is one of the most powerful things you can do.

So, when you put yourself in compromising positions like Weinstein, etc - or when you are recorded for blackmail in brothels/hotels - when you give that material to people that can potential ruin your career you're giving them a lot of power.

Like I said (or maybe I didn't cuz of the beers haha), but I would bet on that stuff being intentional. Not consciously maybe. It could be more an unconscious thing - but it's still a force of willpower coming from a being.

In other words - nobody really gets cucked/hollywood career ruined without their consent on some level of knowing.

Maybe Albert Einstein said it (possibly not but I'm attributing it to him):

"God doesn't play dice with the Universe." There's no "accidents" or anything "unintentional" happens - there's a design or knowledge behind it, order we may not see/understand.

There’s another quote that reminds me of about some time in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer’s table. neverforgetshittymorph

Pedestalizing anything is usually a symptom of a toxic and dysfunctional relationship to the self. It's self-sabotage behavior.

"Arbitrary Symbol XYZ is far more important than what I desire, what I enjoy, and what my feelings are. XYZ is like gold bricks. If only I could get XYZ."

It's a product of various ways development was frustrated as a child.

If you internally place more value on money than money is objectively worth, then yeah, you have it on a pedestal and that's bad, m'kay.

Abundance, man. Don't be stupid, but you can always make more money.

Pedestals are great--as long as you're what on it. Otherwise they are horrible.

[–]awayofthought0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

People on TRP have conflicting pedestals. They argue that pussy should never be placed on a pedestal, but casual sex is viewed as the status quo.

Basically, try not to put anything on a pedestal or make anything seem "untouchable".

The only thing that should be on a pedastool in your life is yourself. Keep in mind I'm not talking about inflating your ego but your life, goals, self improvement, and desires come first.
