My partner recently had her first cervical screening and I have some questions that I couldn't find result for on Google and was wondering if someone could enlighten me.

I was under the impression that the cervical screening was for abnormal cancer cells but I have found out that the testing is for HPV test (human papillomavirus) which is known to cause esophageal cancer, cervical cancer and rectal cancer in women. Men can also contract HPV and it can lead to penile cancer esophageal cancer and rectal cancer. Women receive this test every 3 year but men don't get this testing at all in the UK. So my question is why?
