YOu are not likely to get quality sources for third-world countries. Most research there is done or sponsored by biased organizations that still propagate the view that men are the perpetrators and women are the victims.

I would bet on males being more assertive and women less aggressive than in the West. I have spent enough time there to see lots of cases of discrimination against women.

Look up the Partner Abuse State of Knowledge project. It’s a meta-analysis of 1700 studies from around the world.

In short 12% women and 8% men reported they were hit by intimate partner.

BUT

12% women admitted hiting their intimate partner (5% for men)
