If anything being trans showed me just how fucked it is treating men the way we do. I thought it was fair to isolate men from women. I'm NB masc presenting now, men cant even say anything in public spaces about being unfairly treated without being labeled as a predator. There's an anxiety campaign from women who really should be getting medical help rather than blaming all men for the crimes of her father, uncle, brother, boss, coworkers, etc. it isn't healthy. I was never in favor, just saw it as "one of those things", I advocate for equal rights and equal sciences. They never changed. Like specialized PPE is designed with men in mind only like fall harnesses and vests, and cars driver seats are not designed for women, things that are important for giving women equality in general safety, not safety from men. I never carried a gun, pepper spray, a knife, nothing. I've absolutely been abused and SA'd by a handful of men. It never made me stop talking to men or seeking them out for friendship.

There's something very wrong with the new generation of feminists. It's like the terfs have implanted themselves and imparted the easy to slip in women superiority and men evil complex, keeping their bigotry towards trans people in secret and seeing just how far they can push women into hating all men. It wasn't like this before. I never heard such a hard lean into hating men until the Gen alphas began getting jobs, people who grew up with a corporate Internet scene being more acceptable to the public rather than millennials and Gen z having paranoid parents and imparting Internet safety for the nerds and gamers that were the main audience for online services. Women who immediately attacked men were seen as insane. Now they're normalized. My sister, who never had the same lessons about how dangerous the Internet can be, is believing all those tiktoks about the evils of all white men. She's saying these things right in front of my little brother, pushing him away. It's no wonder he doesn't want to talk politics, if the only political content he's getting is from bigotry and hatred.

Trans man here: the most misandrist people you'll ever see love to say to trans men that "they are the only good men" and that any misandry they ever experience is actually transphobia.

A certain subreddit I used to frequent, dedicated to autism, made a statement as such telling white men cannot experience discrimination which sparked debate between the trans men, gay men, and self-identified women.

What ended up happening was that the men were shut up and banned, labelled as "too cis", "following the alt-right pipeline", and that's when I joined this subreddit.

This is why some people talk a lot about "wanting to date anyone but cis men", because they think "all men are bad and trans men are women".

Think whatever you want of the status of transsexual men in male spaces—what is important here is that the moment a trans man (not a -masc) got labelled as 'real man', the scrutiny and androphobia begins.

What is masculine behavior and how does masculinity become patriarchal/hegemonic in a manner that is distinctly masculine?

Talking about these traumas is one thing, but how can one understand them if one has no knowledge about these traumas? Speaking or acting out of ignorance is useless at best, and is often harmful. This person seems to acknowledge that they don't know what it's like to be a cis man and even calls this a "rare gift" but it does not stop them from running their mouth about masculinity in cis men.

release the comfort of black-and-white thinking, build a bigger basket for our feelings, and hold profound nuance in the container of our bodies. This is not a simple conversation...

This is a very inconcise way to tell others to let go of preconceived notions (except for patriarchy theory, of course)

We have to hold multiple truths: that it is incumbent upon us to craft a new masculinity and to resist the violence and disconnection that patriarchy demands, AND that moving through the world as a man means that you will be seen by some folks as an inherent threat.

So men should address misandrist behavior (ie. being viewed as an inherent threat) by changing their own masculinity??? Can you imagine any demographic group that is told to do this?

I know that this person is envisioning a new and presumably enhanced masculinity and through a feminist lens, it may even look like a noble act. But the ridiculous part is that this person has no roots in anything related to men/masculinity. This person was presumably: raised as a woman, indoctrinated with feminism in public school, consumes feminist blogosphere lies and feminist mass media, THEN suddenly (relatively speaking) desires to be seen as a man unlike any other man. What "masculinity" did this person see in themselves to cause a transition? Clearly, it has to be one in a million, a "not like other men" masculinity, and not the defective masculinity that this person speaks of or that other feminists speak of.

BTW, many users of the twox sub hate menslib, which very apparent once you examine the hateful posts that they keep sending to the front page. And I'm sure that this enlightened trans man will not be seen as such by their (I don't know what pronouns that they go by) own feminists and by many second-wave feminist gurus such as Mary Daly, who referred to trans people as "the Frankenstein phenomenon." So either this person will have their gender affirmed and seen as super evil by the folks that THEY CHOSE to surround themselves with, or they are seen as a woman. I have no idea what spurred the existence of these feminist trans men but it has to be some kind of a miracle.

I used to go crazy trying to understand the cognitive dissonance of someone like OOP writing, in one breath:

While simultaneously seeing the world in a completely black-and-white dichotomy of Goodies and Baddies (The Patriarchy/Feminists).

The lack of internal scrutinization or intellectual honesty or basic logic or even self awareness is just not something I can easily grapple with.

But recently I've realized none of this is about making an argument or reasoning or trying to seek an answer or have a dialogue:

Posts like OOP are just in-group signifiers; virtue signaling; statements of faith.

"See, I'm doing Goodthink, because I posted this!"

It's still bad, even kind of pathetic, in a way ... but I stress out about it less, personally, when I see it now (I think).

Imo it’s ok to be introspective about social issues and complexities. But it gets to a point where some people are so cripplingly obsessed, that it looks like a full blown mental illness.

Just go out, interact with people, and live your life. If that’s not working, find and make better life plans, and try again. But this type of mindset just holds you back

Trans woman here, just wanted to give my take having lived for over three decades as a man:

A lot of this discourse about men being seen as threats by default and how to get past that is (this is a crude analogy but I will make it anyways, dehumanization has always been a part of the male experience for me) less about providing your kitty cat with a scratching post so the furniture doesn't get shredded, and having his claws trimmed when needed as well, versus declawing him because it seems to be the only way to make him be a good kitty and not scratch the furniture. Emphasis on the word "make", implying coercion from an external force or ideology.

I've been diagnosed autistic (plus other things) for years. Either very underweight or very overweight. Introverted. This is just my perspective, but I hope it resonates with some of you:

If people are talking about maleness being threatening by nature, you need to ask yourself whether the these people want you to be a big cuddly teddy bear for their comfort and convenience/"your own good" or if they just want the outward appearance of you being a big cuddly teddy bear when behind closed doors they are really looking to slice you down the back, head to bottom, pull out your stuffing and use you as a doormat- you know, for their comfort and convenience/"your own good". In my experience it has always been the second outcome.
