The more I read information like this, the more I realise it’s like the “cancer cases have been rising” ruse (therefore chemtrails…), when it’s not that cancer is rising, but that all the other causes of death have been decreasing so now you are more likely to die of cancer while you are less likely to die from anything else overall. So women dying from dv committed from a male partner represents a larger percentage of the female deaths, that’s only because men die at a much higher rate due to other factors including male to male violence.

Based on what I could gather from the post here is my summary of what I think the author is trying to say.
On the surface homicide statistics suggest large gender differences. However, this would conflict with broader IPV data showing near parity. Given significant gaps in reporting of male victims of homicide there is room for sizable rates of woman who are perpetrators of homicide. If this assumption is possible based on other IPV data then intimate partner homicide in the U.S. could be far closer to gender parity than commonly believed. This is not demonstrated or proven but possible and requires further research to determine.

The data in this is interesting but it's really just a statement on the fact that often times the homicides of men are simply not reported or recorded propperly. It's done in a sloppy manner compared to women. It's pretty likely that partner violence and abuse is roughly equal, and that killings correlate with that norm, but fact is this article relies on filling in lost data with assumptions. Which is pretty weak.

There is a lot more research about such numbers with similiar outcomes - some papers avoid the mistakes of the past of doing falsifications like counting male rape victims as women or heck, not even count rape of men as rape. Only a short while ago did like switzerland even officially and legally recogniz that men can be raped at all.

Doesn't help that ignorant misandrists continue to ignore proper data. But it's getting more and more difficult for them.

I wonder what's it's like in other countries?

Given how high the share of IPH that is made by gunshot, which is very probably specific to the US, I'd wager it's significantly different elsewhere.

In other countries, I'd wager "being beaten to death" is a more common way of dying from a partner among all IPH, which would make it much more likely to be killed by a male partner.

This might explain why so many countries find male:female ratios that are similar to the "unadjusted" US numbers, despite having entire different ways of reporting/counting homicides and thus not having the same kind of biases/issues.

So if that piece's analysis is correct, it is probably very US-specific.
