growing up I know those films where the nerdy guy gets the blonde cheerleader were a male fantasy, but I maintained the belief that a young guy could easily find a girl on his 'level' so to speak. Just like with men, there were 'types' of women; the fit athletic ones, the popular modelesque ones, then there were the short nerdy girls with thick thighs, pasty skin...
and these girls were often times embarrassed of their body, they wanted to have longer legs and a slim body, less cellulite... So I thought a non-Adonis looking guy with 'flaws' would be a match with a girl who self-admittedly had 'flaws',
Well... the scrawny nerds didn't chase the cheerleaders, he usually had a crush on the thicc bookish girl, the guy who didn't mind her cellulite or stretch marks... was also usually rejected. She was self-conscious of her body alright, but because she was competing for the same top-tier batch of athletic studs as the conventionally attractive girls.
Eye opening stuff.
