Reem Alsalem, special rapporteur on violence against women, speaks in favor of reversing the burden of proof and thus ending the presumption of innocence

"Using the threshold of whether consent was given or not as the burden of proof becomes meaningless in many situations and can lead to the burden of proof falling on victims rather than perpetrators," the Special Rapporteur said, citing cases of trafficking in women for sexual exploitation and abuse, and exploitation in prostitution and pornography.

Not much to add to the title, she is advocating for the burden of proof to be on the accused rather than on the accusation, and therefore also advocating against the presumption of innocence. Btw, although it is impossible to appreciate, she has a master's degree in human rights.

Other things I wanted to point out from the article is that all the positive aspects she mentions for the victims, apply exclusively to women and children, or women and girls. Also that she claims that there is a high rate of "femicides" in spain, but a study by the UN itself shows that it is one of the countries with the lowest rate.
