How about this for a test? Ask her what she thinks of the movie instead and if she agrees with it’s messaging you know it’s time to just move on.

"What are your thoughts on the 'Barbie' movie?"

"It's not my genre."

That question is a good indicator that she is a feminist. Break up with her without saying anything else otherwise she will post you on AWDTSG.

Also, if you are a WW2 history fan, pick any WW2 allied movies and accuse her of being a Nazi for not watching movies on allied forces. It's very easy to use their own tactic on them.

"What are you thoughts on Dunkirk?"

"I haven't watched it."

"So you are a nazi."

How about this for a test: my life is not so empty to have the luxury to spend $15 to watch a movie of which I know nothing about.

Oh it has a feminist message does it? I’ve been reading all these comments going on about how “sad” and “ridiculous” and “snowflaky” all these “right wingers” and “conservatives” are to get so upset about a “kids movie”!

Sounds like there’s a mismatch here. Feminism isn’t a kid’s ideology, however childish its proponents may sometimes seem.

So what is it? A movie aimed at kids? Or a piece of feminist propaganda disguised as a kids movie, and partially trying to rehabilitate the doll in the minds of feminists?

I suspect it’s the latter. But, once again, I’ve not seen the film. This is how the various “reviews” from those who have make it sound.

It's amusing how everything under the sun is somehow the fault of "conservatives" in these cultist's minds. Meanwhile there are so many examples of center to center-left people who also criticize the constant man-hating and masculinity-loathing found in Western entertainment. Even Krystal from Breaking Points – who is very far on the left – lambasted this latest example of divisive and misandric propaganda from Tinseltown. But those voice are just erased to form yet more divisive narratives.

[–]Angryasfk 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly! You’d think only a “right wing extremist” would think that most men aren’t rapists if you listen to these idiots.

It’s very depressing to think how much what passes for left politics has been taken over by feminism and it’s offshoots.

[–]plumberack 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, it's not a kids movie. It instead a movie with feminist ideology that feminists want kids to learn. Atleast right wing and conservatives vote with their wallet. From weeks left wing and feminists are speaking against a movie about anti-child trafficking. That speaks for themselves about what they want to do with kids.

Part of the movie is 100% (invisible) kids playing with dolls. But it's really for adults. I don't know why kids are being brought.

It was overall funny and I like the songs they created. But at times it was soooooo fucking heavy on the message.

They actually had a young actress use the "every thing I don't like is fascist " line. And I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be ironic or not. Supposedly barbie is a fascist.

Feminists (and yes, not all) HATE Barbie. A friend of my gf had a young daughter. She was (and is) a feminist (and a primary school teacher). The little girl loves Barbies (and told me so). But her mother was adamant she was not allowed to have one, for feminist reasons of course. My gf kept saying to her it was ridiculous to put her adult hang ups onto a young child, and that kids don’t think of these things when it comes to toys like Barbie. But it made no difference.

Basically she’s been damaged in past relationships, and is quite negative towards men, and certainly wouldn’t even consider a relationship with one. And she’s gone into feminist literature and groups big time. And one of the things they’ve been pushing is that Barbie is somehow responsible for the “subjugation and exploitation of women”.

She actually lets the girl have LOL dolls - and they’re even less “normal body shape” than Barbie is.

So it’s a very conscious decision to make Barbie a feminist. I’m not sure if it’s by Mattel to neutralise feminist and SJW attacks, or from the film makers who think they’re “subverting” (they love that term don’t they) the “Barbie ethic” (it’s a plastic doll aimed at young girls ffs).

It's weird because the movie tries to play both sides. Starts with the idea that barbie won the feminist movement and all girls can be everything!. Then they see the "real world". But there's no change in Barbieland at the end of the movie. Only change in the real world is the mom pushes the idea for a normal maybe tired middle of the road job barbie.

A great way to dodge a bullet. I am all on board. If the woman starts of with question like this, drop her and run for your life.

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I figured out 20 years ago it was best to just quietly move on and never ask for a number if she was spouting feminist catch phrases like “the patriarchy” or did things like blame men for things that made no sense.

I suspect this movie may become one of the greatest MGTOW recruiting events of all time.

[–]yummypizzaitaliana 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My sister mentioned this. She's gonna do this to her BF. When I said something about it she started insulting me.

“I think it’s easy for a woman to understand the movie, but I never expected him to get everything at this level.”

Imagine thinking the person you’re dating is so stupid they couldn’t understand the extremely ham-fisted themes in a movie about Barbie.
