You take someone like drake.. he clearly has a lot of status, but that comes because he's well accomplished.. status, as i see it, is really more like some merit based recognition, rather than some deliberate stratum within which one can move about directly.

Like you don't attain status in the same way you attain a good body. You lift and eat and the next thing you know you look better, but this is direct. In the case of status its more like, you do a thing thats considered worthwhile, and people see you do it and all of a sudden say this guy is more worthwhile than the next, i.e. he has more status.

But its not really a skill in the way that looks or game or career is.
