Yes this is ragebait, but this is point of view is still very prevalent. She’s just saying the silent part out loud. It signals that ugly dudes still get dates, relationships, etc. but they are not the prize, they are the consolatory second choice safe option that is available to keep you temporarily company for however many short hours/years when the handsome man/men aren’t hitting (back) you up.

Not that I disagree with your sentiment but where I’m from she would be considered above average. Not that I think she’s attractive but what it takes to be desirable for a woman is mediocre at best. Her not being fat puts her in an entirely different league amongst American women.
