I feel so sorry for men on both sides, and especially anyone who has been through conscription. They are risking their lives out there trying to make it to another day, while the women are out there filming travel vlogs and thirst selfies on social media. How insecure does a country need to be to actually STOP men from leaving on planes or the border? It says a lot about the confidence in their military, or how they have treated the people that their first thought was to run instead of fight.

I've seen in the videos how terrified the soldiers are, those who are lucky to surrender, or those who spent their last moments staring down a barrel in a foxhole alongside their dead comrades. Most of them were in their homes shitposting or gaming, or graduates with a future ahead, but the very next week they are dragged to the recruitment office and sent to die. Forced military servitude is barbaric and should've been outlawed a long time.

Ask not what I can do for my country, but what did it do to deserve my call to arms.

Ukraine is no different than Russia. Culturally, politically and sociologically they are quite the same, with each side having relatives on the other. Sadly the west seized the opportunity to use Ukrainian manpower(!) to decimate its enemy, better them dying on the front lines than us, eh?

Can you imagine these measures in Western Europe? Effectively slave labour for men that involves the risk of death. EU and US politicians go on a lot about slave labour practices in China and elsewhere, yet they support these enslaved soldiering practices in Ukraine just so that they feel a bit more secure for their own borders. It is what it is, but hypocrisy must be pointed out.
