Bro I'm sure you can think of like 100 reasons why you might value someone else, there's that thing called the parreto distribution where people consistently tend towards matching it as it tends to be consistent with people's Big 5 personality traits IQ income every state you think of tends to follow this trend of looking like a gradual speed bump. At one end you have the extreme of people who care about everybody and then the other extreme you have people that care about nobody. Then if you had another one it would have people that intensely care about everyone and then at the other end you'd have people who intensely do not ever care about anyone.

The thing is about that distribution is that there's some biological trends to it. It's more of a difficulty chart of how much time or effort it takes in order for someone to bond to you and for a significant portion of the population all it takes is you meeting them for them to care. Hell there's a loneliness epidemic in the US and there's so much political nonsense going on that it's even easier conditionally. For people that share your values and have gone through similar experiences, if they met you once you would already feel like a friend to them. That's all it takes.

If I owned an apartment or a big enough business I would try hiring people willy nilly, like any guy I was vaguely friends with I'd give a job just so I'd have people close enough that I won't just forget about them. That is pretty damn common and some people do that in funny ways where they will try to get you married to their daughter or something if you are around the right age 😆

This is the best the world has ever been statistically there's some messy bits to it but if you divide the world's population by half just mentally that still leaves you an enormous number of people who would care about you to some degree the moment they met you. With the internet this weakened a bit but in person there's easily like five mechanisms raring to go to make you stick like glue to every person you meet.

You matter and that many people would agree and say the same if they were asked. Likely more.
