Well I would say that they may be correct when they say "When they do fight for custody of the child they win more often"

The caveat they downplay / ignore is the many hundreds if not thousands of dollars men often have to pay in their fight to even get 50/50 custody..
So for some men who do not have the monetary resources they often give up because they literally can not fight any more..

Which then feeds into their claims about men not wanting their children..

The only cases making it to a final court hearing, of men seeking custody of children, are the cases where men have the best likelihood of success. Even then, less than 50% are successful.

To reach the conclusion feminists claim as fact, you have to ignore the majority of cases where men will not even try to contest custody in court due to the overwhelming sexist bias favouring mothers, the large number of cases where men settle prior to final hearings (accept a lesser shared or mother only custody) because its clear that they will never succeed, and cases where men who have contested custody are attacked with false claims of child sexual abuse or domestic violence, and had their cases removed from family court listings awaiting years of social services interventions.

What feminists don't want you to know is that mothers benefit from massive sexist bias in family court procedings that apply the law in the context of rutally enforcing strict male gender roles that frame men as providers, incompetent partents particularly incapable of parenting oung children or girls, and potential child rapists or child abusers.

Family courts are captive to feminist man hating fanatics.

Mother takes a majority of custody of child/children in 83% of cases, with the father having no contact with children in 9% of cases, mother having sole custody in 18% of cases, and father having custody between 1-13% of time in 34% of cases.
Father having majority of custody in <8% of cases.
Shared custody (48-52% shared) in 9% of cases, with the majority of these mother has 52% custody (ensures preferential property settlement in favour of the mother).

Given the numbers of fathers complaiining about the female bias of Family Court decisions and family settlement processes in Australia, its highly unlikely any that most of these settlements are by mutual agreement of whats best, compared to acknowledgement that fathers' resistance is expensive and hopeless.

When it comes to the pay gap, feminists go on about men taking up more childcare responsibilities (so women face less of the motherhood penalty). You'd think that feminists would be concerned about a bias against men in family court, rather than dismissing it as men being deadbeats.

Someone posted their “evidence” here a couple of years back. It was posted by some group of feminist judges (yeah, a really objective group).

Now this study, from memory, stated that men got custody in 65% of cases where it was requested. Hence feminists claimed “men get custody most of the time when they ask for it”. What they didn’t say was that women get custody 87% of the time when they asked for it (in the same study). Also the authors of the paper claimed that these feminist judges misused their work and that it wasn’t a good source for their claims.

It’s bizarre that women and men both get custody the majority of time when they ask for it. So this requires further investigation. It could be the study was limited to jurisdictions where default 50:50 is in place. Or that the men’s lawyers advise them to not press for custody unless they’ve got strong evidence that the woman is unfit, or that “custody” really means something like one weekend a month. Or that the woman has already decided she doesn’t want the kids in most of these cases (the reverse of what feminists claim).

A better study would the the resolution of contested custody cases. Or the proportion of men who would like custody but don’t contest it because they believe that they won’t succeed.

As is usually the case with feminists, they tell half truths at best. You need to look at the omissions to see how misleading they are.

No guy I know say’s he doesn’t want the child. Like none.

The guys I know would fight tooth and nail for their kids.

The wife of a friend of mine left her son and husband behind to run off with a guy she met online. To make a long story short he sought out assistance from WIC and was told it’s for WOMEN, infants, and children not men.

His wife maxed out all of the joint credit cards and cleaned out their bank accounts to start a new life. My friend was living paycheck to paycheck trying to take care of a 2 year old while working full time.

It's dated (2017) but is the most recent I can find. Certainly in Canada the rate of shared custody is increasing.

However the stats are still that female sole custody is >50% and male sole custody is <10% shared/split is 35% that's an actual discrimination in favor of women.

I'd like to see shared custody to be over >50%, I can't see that happening as long as benevolent sexism and children being seen as a financial asset continues.

The next attack I can see will be a combo of 'increased costs maintaining a household for children alongside alleged female income disparity'.

Personally I'd like to see the elimination of the sahm and full female employment, which would help custody and support issues. Essentially if both partners earn approximately the same then the financial burden of divorce should affect both partners equally.

If I’m gonna be honest, unless the mother is unfit to be a mother/is a bad person, then she should have custody.
