I am confident this isn't some revelation that's going to rock any worlds. I am confident this discussion has taken place before. Regardless it's a post that I want to make to add to my collection.

All these other posts about how to engage the opposite sex. Behave this way, slow down your speaking, act aloof and uninterested, be too busy in order to hold their attention.

The problem with this is that for the majority of us.. well maybe the minority. It's simply not who we are. I was recently engaging with a gal and a friend told me to slow down, that I need to play hard to get. I appreciate the advice but that's not who I am. I don't have the patience for that shit. Maybe that's why I'll never have a "baddie" but if I'm interested, she'll know, and I expect the same.

I think that the key to it all is to simply be who you are, unabashedly, and confidently, be. who. you. are.

Some of us think and/or talk quickly, so to slow down our tone is just pretending to be. Some of us are into really nerdy or very niche shit. I doubt the "dime piece blonde bomb shell" or the "tall dark and handsome stallion" are necessarily into, say, Dungeons and Dragons or reading Stephen King. I could be wrong but that seems paradoxical.

Maybe it's the guys that go out of their way pretending to be James Bond to get the gorgeous gal are the couples doomed to failure, because she realizes he really isn't Bond and he realizes she isn't the dream girl he expected. The personas they created match, but the ghosts inside those shells aren't even in the same dimension.

Tl;Dr: Will never get a 10/10 because I myself am not naturally 10/10 material, so I'm going to stop pretending.
