Girls was clearly flirting with you (even though she may had no intention of doing anything more) so the answer is yes.

After she did this 3 times I began dancing with her. Was basically dancing in front of them as they danced together.

You should hed grab her hand and lead her slightly away from her friends to dance together. Later ask her to grab a drink and try to escalate and eventually take her number/ get her to your place.

Forget about such girls. They have tons of options and you passing her tests doesn't mean anything to her. She was playing with you.

You were just not her type, but you are always another girl's type.

You did well by not trying to keep her attention or follow her.

Ignore such girls in the future and enjoy your time and the music instead.

Ok, it's pretty easy actually.

1st of all your mindset is off, you need to be in a party mood and have fun, whatever happens happens. No hidden agenda no nothing.

2nd - she slaps your butt playfully? awesome, turn around, have fun. 2 options here.

Make a stern face and "scold her" - "heey, you need to buy me a drink to touch my butt, house rules "
" Oh, that's how you wanna play huh? spin her around and smack her ass while grinning"

3rd. After flirting, playing, try and isolate her and go in for the kiss. Come to think of it, she is pretty open minded from what i see so just try and kiss her while dancing. Now, the crucial part, if she says no or pushes you away or something you say ok, you turn around and go back to dance with your friends, you don't give her anymore attention. I bet you 99% of the time she will come back, usually guys just follow her regardless of what she does so you'd be special.

When she comes back you flirt and dance with her again and try to kiss her. If she refuses a 2nd time ( sometimes it happens ) you can just tell her straight " hey, i like you but i don't play games " and try again to kiss her. If she refuses the 3rd time it's done, you go back to your friends and that's it, she's a waste of time.

This has multiple effects. It makes you look playful and nice but you have boundaries and know what you want. If she's not going to give it to you, no harm no foul but you won't waste time with her, your priorities are more important.

So, don't give up, you def have what it takes, just a bit more practice
