What makes you think I am endorsing non-consensual kissing? I am suggesting OP to be a man and make his intentions clear. I am talking about one of those moments when you are looking in the other person's eyes and feel tingles. Just ask if you could kiss them on one of those occasions. Not a big deal at all. Have you ever read this sub before today? If yes, have you ever heard of a story when 'confessing feelings' turned out well?
I think your next step is to realize that being so emotional and nice is holding you back, that your intuition on what works is wrong (if it wasn't wrong, you wouldn't be in this situation rn). The girl you had a crush on is literally banging some dude she describes as a manipulative asshole. Take the hint and realize that embracing a bit of your dark side would probably help you with women.
Or, continue to believe you're too good for that and remain the eternal emotional tampon.
With this particular girl, the best next step is to put a bit of distance between yourselves while you work out, change your personality a bit, and generally get better with women. That will offer you a slight chance of reuniting with her in a way that makes her see you as a sexual option. Otherwise, you are far too invested in this one girl (thus appearing needy) to make anything happen with her immediately.

Don’t become best friends with women you would want to eventually date. Don’t become close friends with women even if you don’t like them at the beggining. Focus on being friends with guys, and if you want to be close to a girl make sure it’s someone you are attracted to from the beggining and avoid becoming her friends first and instead just hit on her and flirt and go on dates, not just hang outs

That’s wrong advice. The friends first route to a relationship might look good in theory and in movies. In real life it’s one of the worst things you can do to try to get in a relationship with a girl.
Because being friends first means you are killing the sexual tension and the man-to-woman vibe, which makes things feel platonic as fuck and makes the girl see you as nothing more than her brother, or as an asexual guy, or as her gay best friend.
That’s not how you get in a relationship with someone. You need to hit on a girl from the beggining, not become her friend. You are not there to be her friend you are there to be her lover, a guy she sleeps with, makes out and has sex with.
Being her friend and doing things together like Bffs is counterproductive. That’s how what the other guy did not even close. Your intentions need to be clear form that start by flirting shamelessly and without any doubt that you find her sexy and hot and wanna make out from the first few dates.
