There is no middle ground. You ask why they don't like, you are a good looking guy that never tried to approach and ask how their day is going and build rapport.

You have to build relationships. Thinking "if i don't speak much, i wont give anyone a reason to hate me" that's the wrong way to go about your life. I bet you those girls would've liked you if they got to know you but because they don't, they assume the worst and shit talk you.

The reason is entirely you got played for a fool and had no ability to make the girls feel good so they flocked elsewhere. You basically got played for a chump while other guys controlled the girls.

The girls you’ll end up getting will be outliers to this weird cliquey group think that will always keep you at a distance no matter what you do until you find joy or happiness within yourself. They’re weird just focus on yourself and your life. It’s just human behavior and will always occur around immature people

I can relate. I had a similar experience in school and even in one work environment where people just assumed I was arrogant or a 'fuck boy' and disliked me for no reason and I didn't do anything. If you don't have a strong foundation this can destroy your confidence and chance to build future relationships with women because you are afraid of messing things up. And when you don't speak to enough women you lack necessary experience to get more women so it's a catch 22.

For you I would say try to find things you are proud of. You say you are decent looking? Then head to the mall and buy some fresh clothes, let everyone see how much pride you take in your looks. Always make sure your hair is on point. If you have any spots or blemishes then use moisturisers and creams.

I don't know if you are in college or working but whatever you are doing walk with your head up and back straight, let everyone who looks at you know that you're a serious person. And speak to women with that same confidence.

You've probably heard this before but I'll tell you again. You need to speak a lot to different girls, it doesn't matter if you find them attractive. Speaking only to really attractive girls won't build your social skills properly. And speak to guys too. Then when that girls comes around that you really want you will know what to do.
