This sounds very confusing and like neither of you was clear on what you wanted or how you felt.
So step 1 is figure out how you feel about this guy. If you aren’t sure that is ok but own that. If you want to hang out and see how it goes, tell him that. Say something like “I feel like we weren’t on the same page last time we hung out” and then offer to hang again. But have a plan this time with a definite start and end (do you want to get dinner with me at x restaurant?)
