Had 6 dates this past weekend. 2 are worth quick breakdowns;

Girl #1; Matched online. Asked her out immediately. She said 'lets get to know each other first'. We chatted a bit online. Couldnt schedule a date right away. So i called her on the phone instead. Convo was dry AF, decided to bit a bit risque and told her about my recent burlesque show outing. She really responded to that and told me about some fetlife sex parties she's been to. Turns out shes really kinky. Good thing I decided to be risque or i never would have known. We built good rapport on the phone call. When we did finally go on a date she was much prettier than in her pictures. She's just shit at taking pictures apparently. Just had a standard coffee date. Ended with a kiss (with consent). No big deal, next date we might hookup, had very good chemistry.

Lessons; dont build rapport over text, use the phone if you cant meet up right away (or better; video). Dont be afraid to be risque, turn the convo sexual, you have nothing to lose. Sometimes their profile pics suck and theyre prettier in person (not always but sometimes).

Girl#2; Matched online. Asked her out immediately. With all the recent lockdowns we've had many dates cancelled. Honestly she didnt seem super committed, or shes skittish. either way i wasnt making her a priority. But this weekend i decided to entice her with something fun; invited her rock climbing. I wanted to go climbing anyways, company wouldnt hurt. She's never been, the climbing date brought her out. But; she looks far WORSE in person than in her pics. Bad skin, overweight, fucked up teeth. Very nice personality, but not someone I'd want to go out with. So i broke the rule about 1st dates being cheap coffee dates and i paid the price. Oh well. I did want to go climbing anyways

Lessons; you can use a fun date to convince a hesitant woman to come out with you. BUT sometimes people look worse in person than online. So you might end up stuck on a long, expensive, event date with someone youre not interested in. This time i gambled and it didnt pay off. No big deal for me, but it might be for you, so generally; stick to cheap coffee dates for first dates
