Hey everyone! 28-year old French guy here.

So I've been on a dating app break since beginning of February. Even though I usally do fairly well on dating apps (at least when it comes to getting laid) I'm kinda envious of my 2019-self because my nightgame skills have decreased and my approach anxiety increased since covid hit and the bars / clubs closed down. I'd get laid less back then but I was better at nightgame. Nowhere near high-intermediate or advanced level but it was a skill I used to cherish.

In 2021, these dating apps got me laid plenty of times but at some point, you get tired of both using apps and hooking up in itself if you don't really click with the girl. I've probably reached this point in my life where I want to build a more profound / serious relationship as I've never been in a serious relationship (like some of you, my journey was long).

But because I was thriving on these apps in 2021, I would no longer bother trying to approach girls during my night-outs when the bars reopened in the summer unless I got clear choosing signals.

So in 2022, after enjoying those dating apps in January (in France, clubs had to close down again from December 2021 and reopened a month ago), I decided it was high time I took a break and got back to socializing more and meeting girls in bars / clubs. However, I'm under the impression that it keeps getting harder compared to 2019. But I'm willing to take it step-by-step. I know that I have to start reconquering my anxiety first as night-out sessions have mostly been a numbers game.

I don't have any expectations about what would come out of girls I get to close, I'll go with the flow. But I'm just curious about you guys, anyone still killing at meeting and eventually closing girls without using dating apps, instagram or being in an environment rich in opportunities like college?

Thanks for the feedback.
