On a date today I was thinking of how to initiate physical contact. The girl had done her nails, so we talked about the pattern and how she likes minimalism. As I looked I touched her nails and fingers a bit. We walked, and I'd subtly rub upper arms on occasion.

After a bit longer, I risked the make or break and went to hold her hand. I wasn't sure if she liked me before that point, in the bar her eyes had been everywhere but i couldn't tell if she was nervous or uninterested.

But she accepted the hand, and we held hands until we got to her car. We hugged, then I kissed her forehead and then we started kissing. The the most difficult moment when you like someone is seeing if they are into you. You just have to risk the direct contact. I'd recommend talking, going for a walk, and when it's going well reaching to hold her hand. Then you know if the spark is there.

To chat in a friendly way is not wrong, specially if you want a relationship, you just have to balance friendly conversations with flirting conversations and banter. So don't think you did something wrong, because you didn't.

As for the escalation, when you are together, you can say something like "come a little closer", then touch her arm, shoulder, hands. If she is responding ok, you put a finger under her chin and gentle pull for a kiss.

First make sure that you’re playfully touching throughout the date touch her hands briefly or her legs/knees when you laugh at her jokes.

Routine eye contacts longer than you normally would with a friend when you listen to her when she talks.

If you did that you’ve set yourself up. From here I do one of the two;

Get kind close enough and look at her lips, then her eyes, then her lips (let her see this). Half the time she will come and kiss you.

Or If you’re standing up kick her shoes playfully and say something like “you’re kinda cute miss [fisrt name], I kinda wanna kiss you RN” Idk. That’s what I do.

For where you’re at in your texting. Stop for 4 days. Even if she ask you something don’t reply. Then in a couple days say so New Year’s Eve was a shit show do you wanna try again drinks on [some day the week after].

Now stop fucking texting only do a check in the day of. No better way to lower attraction send a text about stupid shit. Texting only lowers attraction texting is only for setting up dates. No better way to heighten attraction then to get her wondering what you’re thinking and where you’re at with her

Simple!

Move. Closer. Slowly.

Alternate looking at her lips, then her eyes.

You’re telegraphing your intention as you move closer. If she doesn’t get it at first it will become more obvious as you keep moving. Once she suspects you’re moving in for the kiss she will either back away to signal she isn’t interested (or isn’t ready yet), or she will freeze waiting for you to come to her (the romantic kiss), or she will move in toward you (the passionate kiss).

Taking it slow gives her time to decide and to anticipate. It prolongs the moment making a better “first kiss story” and gives time for her body to be flooded with endorphins. It also helps set a slow starting pace for the kiss itself, so you can take your time on that too. Let it build and she’ll feel that as chemistry.
