I'm out with a friend of mine, and I frequent at this certain restaurant a lot. There's this one specific waiter who's pretty cool. But subtly does a lot of things that are deemed disrespectful to me.

For instance today, I came in with my friend. From here I went up to write my name to check in.

Immediately the waiter snaps his fingers at me and say "Check in over there".

This was extremely rude for me.

From here, here's how I handled it. I was thrown a bit off. But first I went to my table.

Second I went up back to him and stated the following.

Me: "Whatsup Jase, I noticed you were snapping at me earlier. Don't ever snap at me again. That's extremely disrespectful"

Him: "Oh I wasn't trying to be disrespectful. I was trying to get your attention"

Me: "I get that, but I worked in customer service before, and nobody likes being snapped at. It's disrespectful"

Him: "I got that, but I wasn't trying to be disrespectful"

Me: "If you told me something I did felt disrespectful, I'd do it. I expect the same"

Him: (Looks to his computer) "Alright whatever"

How would you have handled this type of disrespect from a waiter who you consistently see?

It went from being cool and friendly to small ordering to 'snapping his fingers at me'
