Alright so, I (23 M) tend to be pretty dense in regards to any and all social cues from women. A few days ago I was checking out, and the first thing this cute cashier (?? F) did was compliment my hair and the way I dressed. As I guy, it’s rare for me to be complimented once a year. The fact that it happened twice in two sentences damn near made me want to vomit. After that, we had a nice, chill small talk session. It didn’t feel like the stereotypical, by the book convo that many of us have had with cashiers just doing their job. With her, it seemed like she was actually engaged and trying to hold a conversation. It was short lived however, as there were customers behind me. After we parted ways, I felt as though the conversation was very pleasant and that I wanted to get to know her better if I ever saw her again. I never try to flirt or try to pick up anyone working retail, however in this situation, I’m tempted to. I’m thinking about visiting the store again next week, giving her my number if I see her, and putting the ball in her court. However, I’m skeptical because, 1. I have no idea if she was just following customer protocol, if she was just being nice, or if she was actually flirting with me. 2. I don’t wanna come off as a creep that’s reading too much into something that’s not even there.

TL;DR Attractive cashier complimented me and I’m losing my shit. Help.
