I think your self limiting beliefs about the state of game in your country is sabotaging your ability to even try. Have you got first hand examples of failing and being rejected or do you use this rationalisation to give into fear and avoid making the approach in the first place?

Improve your appearance and come up with better opening lines. "Hi" and "Hello" are boring and lame. Start with a joke or something clever.

Saying "hello" is weird in your country? I find that hard to believe. I think you are jsut making excuses to justify your approach anxiety.
