I was working tonight (I’m a server) and the girl was with 2 friends celebrating her birthday. She kept making eye contact with me and I felt like she wanted me to escalate more. When they were paying the bill I asked the girl for her number and her friends were all excited I asked. She seemed flustered though. She gave me her number. I waited till I got off work and looked at the number. The area code isn’t one I’ve seen before so I feel like she may have given me a fake number because their id’s made them seem local. It’s only been a couple hours since I’ve texted her but she hasn’t responded. I’m not too upset either way. I’ve just been challenging myself to put myself out there more. I felt like she was giving me the right signs to progress but maybe I read the situation wrong. One way or another though, I’m just happy I asked. I feel more masculine putting myself on the line and having the balls to ask her out in front of her friends. Originally I just wanted to write my number on the bill but hearing you guys on here talk about asking for numbers rather than giving my number convinced me to ask for hers instead. I’m glad I did that instead of just writing mine down because it makes me more vulnerable which is better for growth. I only asked her tonight because I’ve been following this subreddit for a little while and some other more successful people’s voices were ringing through my ears as I made the decision!
