Head out to the Dominican Republic. About 300 for a round trip, roughly an 8 hour travel day. Once you land at SDQ grab a cab and hit Boca Chica or Juan Dolio beaches, Boca is about a 5 dollar Uber ride away. There are plenty, plenty of women there and no one will stress you on the mask thing.

Can you describe Boca Chica and Juan Dolio? Is there a lot of tourist traps around that area? Any underrated spots you recommend?

Boca and Juan and pretty similar in that both are touristy destinations. Meaning you will have a certain level of comfort and relative safety around you. If you’re interested in seeing, this is how I made my decision to go, visit YouTube and search for Boca Chica Dominican Republic. There you will find dozens of walking around videos. Tourist traps: wait to exchange your dollars to pesos until you get there don’t do it in the airport. Avoid taxis, Uber operates there and is way cheaper plus you can always tip the driver if you’re feeling guilty about the less expensive ride. The men there will try to sell you various women. Be careful there. On the subject of women, prostitution is legal in the Dominican so don’t be alarmed when women approach you. Again be careful because tough times lead to missing wallets. The rest you’ll see for yourself and I’m sure have good enough judgment to see coming. Hidden gems: Boca in general. It’s a great little beach spot that is small enough that you get to know the community if you go a couple of times. I’ve stayed at the Azzurra hotel and found it to be quite acceptable, stay in the second floor if possible. Beyond that, YouTube is a great resource for travel info about popular destinations.
