Probably comes down to this: If a host was throwing a party, would he invite you?

As horrible as it sounds, when I'm throwing a party that I want to have fun, there are a few friends I don't invite because I know they will not bring anything to the party. I invite only people that are dynamic and have a good time doing anything.

That's not to say I don't like some of my friends, they're just not people that party - that's not why I'm friends with them in the first place anyhow. At best, they'd contribute nothing funny and be a wallflower, at worst they'd get upset about small things, creep a girl out, or start some drama. And if the worst happens, they definitely won't have a good time, and will suck the fun out of people around them.

If you're dynamic, talk openly, laugh a lot at yourself, and don't take life too seriously when you don't have to - a good host that's looking to throw a great party will go out of his way to get you there. Some guys I drive out two hours to pick them up and bring them over to the party, because I know they both take care of my house right, do some wicked awesome mixed drinks, and make everyone around them laugh their ass off.

You haven't really given us enough context, but a lot of time people will use "party" as a code word for recreational drugs, usually coke.

It means you are seen as innocent or preppy. To be "someone who parties" you need to gain a reputation as someone who actually does shit. And have a few good stories to tell.

They're jealous. Own that shit, you're more of a banquet type dude anyways, parties are for kid's birthdays. This is exactly the type of shit you need to be able to immediately say "whatever" to. Your opinion of yourself trumps anyone else's, find a way to believe it.

Seriously man! You don't need to go to parties to become a natural with girls. Approaching on the street, in class, at the grocery store...works just as well or even better really!
