So this is my first field report guys.

I'm part of a summer hangouts thing on facebook so I could find things to do at my university since none of my friends are here right now. A girl in the group (we will call her amber) says she is throwing a pool party in the middle of the afternoon. I message her and get the address.

I show up fashionably late with some beer (I figured the best way to make new friends is to bring a 12-pack of Dos Equis), but nobody is there except these 3 girls and a guy, and one of the girls is sitting one those pool chairs, the rest swimming.

I ask "Is one of y'all Amber?" They all say no. At this point I was a little confused. I had shown up fashionably late by about 20 minutes so I figured someone would be there by then. I shrug, put down the beers and sit down in the chair next to the girl. I started making conversation and it turned out we had a lot in common.

More people started to come to the pool for what was supposed to be the party. Eventually things start bumping, but I was making good report with this girl. Her friends come out of the pool and say they are about to make chicken and invite me over for dinner. They cooked me some delicious chicken and rice, we drank a few of the beers and over all had a great night.

After a fun night I have to get going, and I ask for her number. We exchanged numbers, and then she offered to walk me down. When we get to my car, she says she will text me sometime, and we will do something again.
