No, the direct approach rarely works because no girls wants to feel like a slut or object. If you invite them in for a movie or drink and then escalate it makes them more at ease with the situation. Most girls want to hook up just as bad as guys but they go about it completely differently.

Don't do this. I would either call her out in a playful way (actions dont match words), or ignore and when she realizes she can't get free attention, she'll come knocking. It sounds like shes testing you.

Asking a girl to fuck BEFORE shes clearly down (which she isn't, shes pulling back) to me is the conversational equivalent of premature ejaculation. You're just so tempted to bust your nut, and if you try this, it MIGHT work, but likely its going to leave her disappointed. Most girls do not want to feel like a slut. So if you ask them out of the blue to have sex big chance there defense mechanism will start to work. But if you see it in a more flirtatious matter and you are flirting a lot then she is in an adventure that can go anywhere.
