On a solo business trip and plan on hitting the bar / restaurant area of town tonight. Any advice for navigating solo and meeting women? Any good opening lines to use as a business traveler? Does being from out of town help or hurt my chances of closing?

I'm on week 5/6 for my own solo business trip.

General Advice:

-You asked about opening lines. Here is the only one you will need, "Hey do you live around here? I'm visiting for work and I'm wondering what are the best places to go out to/things to see/touristy things to avoid etc." or alternatively, "If you were stuck here for 6 weeks what would you do in your spare time?"

-Lace this with humor about whatever her/his answer is.

-Won't hurt your chances of closing. You have a hotel and they know you're only temporary. This actually helps.

-If you are there for only a few days then just chat everybody up no matter how big small, attractive/unattractive, male/female, panda/wallaby, or how good/bad the interaction goes. You have a license to fail. Use it. Nobody cares/will remember. Practice makes perfect.

-If you are there for an extended period of time: Pick 2-3 spots. Rotate during the week. DO NOT STICK TO ONE PLACE

-# Close right away if you will be back. Give them the chance to come to you if they're interested in you. Don't bother with text game. This should only be an outlet for them to get a hold of you.

-First and foremost befriend the staff. It will make you look like the social center of attention. Use the line above with the staff, they will instantly be engaged. Ask them questions about non-work stuff. At a few of my hot spots they all know me by name, tend to hover by me at the bar, give me free drinks, introduce me to girls.

-Traveling alone for business is the best excuse to talk to hot girls. You instantly DHV because your company thinks you are valued enough to send you on a trip by yourself. You have an excuse for being alone/looking for things to do. You can look a little desperate but if you play it off right you have a reason why you're there alone. A reason that doesn't suck/scream I'm boring/have no friends. People actually find it interesting that you're alone for good reason and will generally HELP you to find something fun. Hopefully she's hot and her something fun is in her pants.

TL;DR: Subconsciously traveling alone turns me into a crazy social animal. Talk to everybody, flirt with every girl, and have no regrets. You'll never see these people again. Be the social center.

Pro Tip: Don't be hungover for work if you're at a client.
