A bit of context, I used to dabble in the community. Then got a girlfriend and basically stopped improving.

Professionally I feel I am stuck, and want to switch to a new industry with out a lot of industry experience. Which mean, networking is really important. However, being in your 30s means a lot of my old clubbing friends are now at home with kids and wife. So my social circle is shrinking, and it sucks for both my social life and professional life.
