A little background info about me first: I used to be a player at a restaurant I worked at 5-6 years ago. I totally had "restaurant game" and messed around with 11-12 of the hostesses/waitresses. I got in a serious relationship with one for about half a year, briefly mentioned marriage, and it ended terribly. I lost all my confidence with women (in any setting) and went into a deep depression for a couple years. I've been slowly pulling myself out of it by improving myself in the past 2 years and talking a lot more to women. Still, I get really psyched out when talking to a hot chick or someone I can envision actually being with.

I've been reading nearly everything on Seddit and PU for about a week now. I used to be a badboy, which was really great for game, but I felt like it wasn't really who I was and I thought it would be better to just be real with everyone and treat them the same. I've diagnosed myself with a serious case of oneitis, which was sprung by a weird funk I fell into after a HB10 stopped returning my texts after one date.

I'm good at talking to women in the "right" settings and when it's convenient or forced, but have almost no ability transitioning beyond the initial opener into a conversation. I thought I would force myself into a few sets and see what happened.

It started out with trivia. Me and a buddy had a plan to scope the place out beforehand and meet up with a table of girls to see if we could join their team. There wasn't anything available so we sat the bar to wait a bit. We initiated with three different groups: a couple ladies that were an older HB3 and a HB9. They said we could join but were expecting a few more and might push beyond the limit. The HB9 was giving off really bad body language and not smiling at anything, she was very interested in her cell phone the whole time (It wasn't until the end of the night when I saw a wedding ring). Another table of 3 HBs7,8,8 were available. My buddy tried to get us to join them but they weren't interested/already full. Finally a group of 5 with 3 HB 9,9,8 sat next to us at the bar.....with 2 other guys. We'd talk to them periodically. The one closest to us chatted with us occasionally for exchanging answers. She seemed the friendliest and gave me great smiles and eye contact when she looked to me to talk. I neged her a bit and switched answers and talked a little trash. She seemed into it sometimes, but would revert back to facing in the complete opposite direction at times. Her friend would ask us for answers, but told the rest of the group that we didn't know what we talking about and said we were dumb when I playfully told her the wrong answer and covered up my sheet. She seemed like a real bitch. Anyways, this goes on throughout the night. I chatted to a few people who wandered nearby, but my buddy was sending off some real bad body language and not talking much. Afterwards, we decided to ask them to join us for pool nearby. I didn't want to ask them even though he was sitting closest to them. As the friendly one got up, I started talking a little bit more trash about how we stomped them (even though it was obvious they won). I was getting mixed feedback, she was calling me a liar to my face (and meant it) but said it with energy and a look. Here's where things fell apart. It was noisy and I'm fairly soft-spoken. I couldn't really hear what she said and didn't react so smoothly and tried to play it off. Then I asked her what they were doing afterwards. They couldn't hear me so I repeated myself, and the bitchy one had this incredulous look and said to the other one, "Oh, they want to know what we're doing." Their faces and body language changed to almost disgust. I asked them if they wanted to join us, we'd be at the pool hall to play some doubles. The friendly one who called me a liar looked at me and said, "Okay we'll so you there" in a really sarcastic tone. I have to say, I could see it developing into a suicide mission, but there were no alternatives and I'd rather throw up a hail mary then to walk out of there without a try. On one hand, it felt good to practice an invite like that at a bar, but there was some serious negative shit layed into me from getting rejected so hard. The only positive I could find in it walking away was that the entire experience was so bad, that it might help me become inured to future rejection. I just wonder if that bad feeling may make me more hesitant to approach in a setting like that going forward.

This was only the first bar of the night. If there's much of a response, I'll continue with the rest of the night.
