I'm a first year music major majoring in classical performance and I'm wondering whether it's any good restricting myself to dating/flirting women within in my field. I have been watching a lot of seminars by pickup artists on YouTube, who often talk about dating/flirting with women outside one's workplace and academic environment but as much as I agree with their other advice (i.e. confidence, morale etc), I have a hard time grappling with the idea of going up to random women on the street and talking/seducing them. Because the profession/aspiration I'm working toward as a musician is extremely demanding (I play three instruments and compose on top) in my time, I felt the need to elevate high standards for a sexual/romantic relationship, which I feel can only be conjugated with a women who has similar aspirations as me. This rational mindset as at odds with my primal mindset, which is telling me to MEET WOMEN and seek physical contact with them. I think this need to seek physical contact with a women is beginning to drive me insane now. What do?
