Bumped into an old classmate (HB8) the other day when I was out with friends. I isolate her and she's very friendly and showing a lot of IOI, (flirting and touching, locking her arm in with mine as we moved from one club to the next) we're vibing each other and I'm doing pretty well but I'm also hammered. I number close her pretty early on and my friend would later say to me that he thought it was a sure thing, so did I. My friends end up leaving so it's just me and her friend and here's where it all starts to go to shit. I'm wasted and the club is ridiculously loud, so she's trying to speak in my ear and for some reason all I can repeat to her is that I don't understand a word she's saying (smooth I know but I'm hammered). I probably say this to her 3 or 4 times when she keeps trying to talk to me which I can't imagine went down very well. Instead of using this to try and bring her somewhere so 'we can talk' I just start dancing with her in an effort to escalate, eventually moving in for the kiss.

First time I don't go in properly so I'm not sure if she actually rejected me or not, so I try again shortly afterwards where it becomes apparent she is rejecting my advances which I thought was strange. We're alone at this point because her friend had gone to the bathroom so I don't think it was an image thing, although I have no idea how much of a prude she is. Maybe she just wasn't that into it?

Her friend comes back and we're all just kind of dancing awkwardly no real conversation going, I feel the vibe dying and in an effort to gather myself say I'm going to the toilet. I come back and both girls are gone, I walk around the club trying to find them and manage to find her friend. Start speaking to her and she seems fine, HB8 shows up and I try speaking to her and she straight up ignores me. She at this point goes 'Who are you?' and starts asking her friend if she knew me. The friend just stands there awkwardly. Needless to say this was the last response I was expecting, and I am crushed. Not sure if this was a shit test of sorts but I completely failed it, just ended up walking away and going home feeling miserable and wasted.

This is where I think the story should end because overall was a massive fail but here's where it gets interesting. 2 weeks later I get a text from her asking me if I'm going out that night, it's about 11.30pm. I decide not to respond as I'm with friends anyways. The next day my ego get's the best of me and even though I know that it's her I send back a text saying 'Who's this? Lost contacts' just to get back at her for pretending not know who I am. Predictably I don't get a response and I think that's the end of it again but she ends up texting back another 2 weeks later saying it's her and that I should save her number. Now I'm really intrigued because it's twice she's made an effort to get in touch with me so I decide to give it a go.

This past weekend had this text exchange with her inviting her out.

Me: HB8! We're going to Perdu tonight. Come along.

HB8: Down! What time will you guys be there?

Me: Nice! Going to the empress before to meet some people then going from there, but probably be at Perdu around 12.

HB8: Alright I'm just around downtown. See you guys soon!

She ends up not showing up at Perdu at all, I considered texting her during the night to ask her if she was coming but didn't want to come off looking desperate so decided not to text. It's now the middle of the afternoon the next day and I haven't received any contact from her. Confused as to whether I should send a text along the lines of 'Hey what happened to you last night? You missed out!' or if I should just wait for her to contact me. Impossible to get a read on this girl because she tries to contact me but then ends up flaking when I seemed to have the invite sealed. Add in the awful first encounter and I don't know where to take it. Thoughts?
