Let's talk Happy Hour - Any differences between Happy Hour game and day/night game? Experiences? Suggestions?

I love going out to upscale lounges here in New York City during happy hour, typically from 6-9PM on weekdays. There's a lot of great advantages to going during this time.

It's not as crowded and loud as night game (like 10 PM onward). There are maybe 30% the amount of people. So you don't have to push your way through crowds.

You'll typically find small groups of girls. And it's usually two girls--a girl there with her girlfriend. They'll be chatting and sharing a drink.

There is rarely anyone in the place talking to them. You rarely have to compete with testosterone-filled meatheads. In fact, depending on what upscale bar/lounge you go to, you'll often find more women than men in the place.

The environment is much, much quieter, almost like day game. Often there is no music playing, and if there is music playing, it tends to be background level, like what you might hear in a store. So you never have to shout or compete with loud distractions.

The beauty is that when you start talking with these women, they expect it. They are already in a social mode. You can simply walk up to them with an interesting conversation topic without any other premise other than having a conversation.

Are some women there to talk to their own friends exclusively? Sure. Some are with co-workers. But most women go out to bars in order to meet people and be more social. Talking to guys is part of that experience for them.

I tend to open with something a bit more conversational, since it's pretty easy to talk with them. I like to go with a wing, since women don't typically go alone, although sometimes you can find them there alone at happy hour. We talk for 15 minutes or so and then jet out of the bar.

We also do a lot of what we can fake architect in order to position ourselves near women, pointing at buildings outside the bar in order to get in position to talk with certain women without making it seem like we're scanning the bar for women to talk with. See more of that here.
