Strategy based on my current approach to a situation described below, but hopefully is universal for dealing with ladies with recent break ups
Moved to a new city 4 months ago and one of my housemates introduced me to a friend of hers—we'll say Anna. Anna and I hit it off really well when we first met and I knew she was interested in me because I saw her doing those sly little glances to the side at me. I decided myself that the next time I saw her I'd be even more flirty and try to get it to go somewhere. All good except in the 10 days between first meeting and second meeting she had just started a relationship. So whatever, I like her and the new bf is cool too so I figure they'll be part of the social circle. No big deal it's a big city. But just learned from Anna that she broke up (he initiated) with her bf. Actually somehow I managed to hear it even before our common friend (my housemate) learned. Also I should add that even for her ~3ish months with the guy she was always super interested in my dating life, flirty, etc. so I do think she was into me, I just hadn't moved in fast enough. On to quick notes I put together to approach this situation:
How long to wait? 1. I say 2-3 weeks to let her get over and then really increase the flirting 2. Of course play by ear – advantage for me in this scenario is I see Anna regularly 3. Go too fast and closing chances are higher, but I think being rebound-boy makes long-term respect (& self-respect) harder 4. Go too slow and the attraction fades
Cards to play 1. Never be a shoulder to cry on 2. Strong, supportive, and thoughtful friend is fine, but beware the friendzone. Always. 3. Accelerate the getting over process by being supportive in social capacity (example: I love organizing events and dinner parties, dont let her mope) 4. (And if you organize events, obviously dont set a social setting up where you have competitors...) 5. (And if she does mope, which she will, remember points 1 & 2) 6. Amp it up as much as possible based on signals. Push for one-on-one time, especially after you feel like the mourning period is over
General items 1. Setting sights and strategy for a specific lady is good, but never forget the bigger game 2. Don't do rebounds... But Ill make an exception here since there was genuine attraction before the bf
What should be added to this list fellows?
there doesn't seem to be anything here
